As most of you are probably aware, I have been suffering severely for the last few years with stage 4 endometriosis, to the extent that I couldn’t even eat or walk properly. My last few trips to Pisa, Israel and Paris were completely ruined by my struggle with this disease. I’ve recently had endometriosis excision surgery and thankfully am making a good recovery!
On 1st February, I went into St Mary’s hospital in Manchester, under Dr Ediosagie. I went into theatre extremely anxious, as there was a possibility of a laparotomy and ileostomy, which I’d had to consent to. However, after almost 6 hours in theatre, I woke up to realise that they had removed all cysts and growths from several organs using key hole surgery!
I was sent home on day 7 after excision surgery, which is pretty good going, considering that I was supposed to be kept in for 8-14 days had I needed the full bowel resection. I was basically eating normally again within 48 hours of the operation – amazing!
I’ve now been out of hospital for a week, and I’m already up and about in Liverpool. I’ve recently been to the Liverpool Jelly (pop up office) which is great for digital nomads in Liverpool. I’ve also travelled back to York to help with the decorating in our house there. Unbelievable, considering that I was pretty much bed ridden 12 months ago.
So, feeling pain free and being able to eat for the first time in years, I am now allowed to TRAVEL again from March onwards. I feel like I’ve got my life back!
My plans include a week all inclusive to Malta, because everyone needs a package holiday once in a while! This will hopefully be followed by a month in Thailand for the Buddhist temples (Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai). I’m also registered for TBEX Ostrava this July. Watch this space!
Thank you to all my readers and fans for your support during this difficult time – your patience and kind words have been invaluable.
